Many of us try to keep a squeaky clean public image, and that includes avoiding committing any crimes. Celebrities are no exception as they’re always in the public eye, but there are some that have gotten into trouble once or twice. Then, there are some that seem like they can’t stop avoiding going to jail.
Due to public information access, in this article, you can learn how to look up inmate records yourself, including celebrities like the ones you’re about to see, as we highlight celebrities with the most insane and shocking criminal records.
The star actor most known for his roles in “Home Improvement”, “Toy Story,” and “The Santa Clause”, Tim Allen was early into his career when he was arrested in 1978 in Michigan for possessing nearly 1.5 pounds of cocaine.
Allen was facing a lengthy jail sentence but wound up serving only a couple of years due to agreeing to become an informant for the police and was released in 1981. That wasn’t Allen’s only arrest, however, as he was also arrested in 1998 for driving under the influence in Michigan.
Born as Shawn Carter, Jay-Z is one of the most successful rappers in history with a long catalog of hits. It was a rags-to-riches story for Jay-Z, as before his rap career, he was selling narcotics on the streets of New York City. Since becoming famous, Jay-Z has had his troubles with the law, including a 1999 stabbing of record executive Lance Rivera.
Jay-Z was given three years of probation for the charge. That same year, he was also seen punching a female fan and was arrested for gun possession in 2001, many years after he shot his brother at the age of 12 for stealing his jewelry.
One of the longest rap sheets (no pun intended) belongs to another rap legend, Snoop Dogg. The first documented arrest for Snoop came back in 1989 for cocaine possession, and he would spend much of his early rap career in and out of jail.
Many of the charges that he faced early on were drug-related, as well as possession of handguns. He has even been detained at multiple airports for incidents that include vandalizing a duty-free store. There are plenty more to pick from on Snoop’s arrest record, but there are simply too many to name.
The much-maligned actor that’s most known for playing the role of The Flash in “The Justice League”, Ezra Miller’s problems began back in 2011 when he was arrested for marijuana possession. Miller was able to keep his nose clean for several years as he became more famous, but he has had several incidents in the past couple of years. This includes being arrested in Hawaii for getting into an altercation at a karaoke bar, and just a few weeks later, he was arrested again for assault. In 2022 alone, Miller faced allegations of harassment, and his Vermont home was approached by police after some stunning reports. More recently, Miller was arrested for burglary and is awaiting trial.
Actress and singer Courtney Love has been a familiar face in courthouses since she was a teenager, getting her first arrest at just 14 years old for shoplifting. With a total of 10 arrests, many of Love’s charges have come from drug possession, but there have also been a handful of non-drug-related incidents.
On an Australian flight, Love got into it with a flight attendant and was arrested upon landing. Just a few months later, she was arrested again for punching musician Kathleen Hanna. There was another incident on an airplane with a flight attendant, too, striking a fan and failing to appear in court.
While his son Charlie is the Sheen that’s most synonymous with serious legal trouble, actor Martin Sheen has actually been arrested a shocking minimum of 66 times. However, the arrests haven’t come from violence, drugs, alcohol, etc.
Instead, he has been arrested for protesting peacefully for decades, so none of the charges have landed him some serious jail time, thankfully. Take away the protesting arrests, and he has a squeaky clean image.
While not as many arrests as Sheen, Libertines frontman Pete Doherty still has a shocking arrest record with more than a dozen.
Some of the charges that Doherty has faced in his career include robbery, drug possession (multiple times), driving under the influence (also multiple times), car theft, and assault. It’s been a rough road for Doherty, getting clean in 2019 after his most recent arrest.
